Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2007 Christies in London held the auction Old Master and British Pictures and Old Master Drawings, which included the work The waterfalls at Tivoli by Tommaso Bigatti. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,440.00 (€ 2,108.35) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Tommaso Bigatti have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A design for a wall decoration in Ancient Roman style, with a central scene of Adonis discovering the sleeping Venus, flanked by panels with putti, griffins and winged horses in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 10,520.89).
