In May 2000 Christies in London held the auction Maritime, which included the work A schooner yacht of the Royal Northern Yacht Club lying at anchor in Naples Bay by Tommaso de Simone. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 7,050.00 (€ 11,312.65), 41% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tommaso de Simone - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work H.M.S. Exmouth signalling her arrival at Naples, which sold at auction in February 2004 for USD 28,680.00 (€ 23,052.81).

Im Mai 2000 führte Christies in London die Auktion Maritime durch, in der auch die Arbeit A schooner yacht of the Royal Northern Yacht Club lying at anchor in Naples Bay von Tommaso de Simone zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 7.050,00 (€ 11.312,65) und damit 41% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Tommaso de Simone mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit H.M.S. Exmouth signalling her arrival at Naples beobachtet, die im Februar 2004 für USD 28.680,00 (€ 23.052,81) versteigert wurde.
