Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

The work A schooner of the Royal Thames Yacht Club at sea; and A schooner of the Royal Thames Yacht Club in a heavy swell by Tommaso de Simone was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2000. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 6,462.50 (€ 10,369.93). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tommaso de Simone - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work H.M.S. Exmouth signalling her arrival at Naples, which sold at auction in February 2004 for USD 28,680.00 (€ 23,052.81).

Die Arbeit A schooner of the Royal Thames Yacht Club at sea; and A schooner of the Royal Thames Yacht Club in a heavy swell von Tommaso de Simone kam im Mai 2000 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 6.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 6.462,50 (€ 10.369,93) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Tommaso de Simone mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit H.M.S.
