Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October last year Phillips in London held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Pleasure Chest by Tom Sachs. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 70,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 75,600.00 (€ 88,073.16). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tom Sachs - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Tiffany Value Meal, which sold at auction in May last year for USD 302,400.00 (€ 281,800.39).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Phillips in London die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Pleasure Chest von Tom Sachs zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 70.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 75.600,00 (€ 88.073,16) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Tom Sachs mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Tiffany Value Meal beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für USD 302.400,00 (€ 281.800,39) versteigert wurde.
