In November 2012 Christies in London held the auction Victorian & British Impressionist Art, which included the work A walk in the park by Thomas Edwin Mostyn. The auction ended at the price of GBP 2,000.00 (€ 2,463.80), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Edwin Mostyn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of a lady, three-quarter-length, in a green and gold dress in September 2003 with an auction result of GBP 39,950.00 (€ 40,240.55).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im November 2012 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian & British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A walk in the park von Thomas Edwin Mostyn zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 2.000,00 (€ 2.463,80) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Edwin Mostyn erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of a lady, three-quarter-length, in a green and gold dress im September 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 39.950,00 (€ 40.240,55).
