In March 2006 Christies in New York held the auction Japanese Art Including Property of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, which included the work Portrait of The Artist'S Wife, 1935 by Tokuriki Tomikichirō. The »bidding war« ended at USD 2,880.00 (€ 2,372.52), 60% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Tokuriki Tomikichirō; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Seven woodblock prints sold at auction in May 2021 with the realized price of GBP 2,772.00 (€ 3,225.29).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 60 % übertroffen
Im März 2006 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Japanese Art Including Property of The Metropolitan Museum of Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of The Artist'S Wife, 1935 von Tokuriki Tomikichirō zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 2.880,00 (€ 2.372,52) und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Tokuriki Tomikichirō; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Seven woodblock prints im Mai 2021 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 2.772,00 (€ 3.225,29).
