Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Pinari, 1999 by Timmy Payungka Tjapangati was auctioned at Artcurial in Paris in December 2010, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 5,865.00. Other works by Timmy Payungka Tjapangati have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in December 2020 by the work PARRAPI, 1985 at USD 8,190.00 (€ 6,696.65).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Pinari, 1999 von Timmy Payungka Tjapangati im Dezember 2010 bei Artcurial in Paris versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 5.865,00 den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Timmy Payungka Tjapangati wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Dezember 2020 die Arbeit PARRAPI, 1985 mit USD 8.190,00 (€ 6.696,65).
