Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2017 a collector was able to acquire the work Pacheco Painting a Mural, 1927 by Tina Modotti for GBP 1,750.00 (€ 1,985.40). This price was achieved in the auction Avant-Garde: Photographs from the Shalom Shpilman Collection at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tina Modotti achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Telephone Wires, Mexico in April 2019 with an auction result of USD 692,000.00 (€ 617,801.98).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September 2017 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Pacheco Painting a Mural, 1927 von Tina Modotti für GBP 1.750,00 (€ 1.985,40) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Avant-Garde: Photographs from the Shalom Shpilman Collection bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tina Modotti erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Telephone Wires, Mexico im April 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 692.000,00 (€ 617.801,98).
