Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2021 a collector was able to acquire the work Union Signal Corp Reconnoitering Confederate Positions from the Eastern Slope of Cedar Mountain, South of the Rapidan RIver, Virginia, March 1864 by Timothy O'Sullivan for USD 1,625.00 (€ 1,406.68). This price was achieved in the auction Photography of the Civil War: Property from The Metropolitan Museum of Art at Christies and was even below the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Timothy O'Sullivan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Ancient Ruins In The Cañon De Chelle, N.M.' in April 2011 with an auction result of USD 134,500.00 (€ 90,749.61).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2021 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Union Signal Corp Reconnoitering Confederate Positions from the Eastern Slope of Cedar Mountain, South of the Rapidan RIver, Virginia, March 1864 von Timothy O'Sullivan für USD 1.625,00 (€ 1.406,68) erwerben.
