Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Color Cue No. 3 by Tim Ebner was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in July 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,250.00 (€ 1,123.09). Admittedly, works by Tim Ebner have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in July 2019 with an auction result of USD 6,875.00 (€ 6,177.00).
