Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2021 a collector was able to acquire the work Shell 2, Kearny (from Retail) by Tim Davis for USD 756.00 (€ 653.02). This price was achieved in the auction A Life Among Artists: Contemporary Photographs from an Esteemed Private Collection at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,000.00 – 2,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Tim Davis have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Burger King, 2000 in May 2014 with an auction result of EUR 3,900.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September 2021 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Shell 2, Kearny (from Retail) von Tim Davis für USD 756,00 (€ 653,02) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion A Life Among Artists: Contemporary Photographs from an Esteemed Private Collection bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.000,00 – 2.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Tim Davis auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Burger King, 2000 im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 3.900,00.
