Artwork auctioned at five times the upper estimate price
When the work Sparrows and Chrysanthemum by Tian Shiguang was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May last year, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 35,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than five times as high at HKD 189,000.00 (€ 22,438.36). Admittedly, works by Tian Shiguang have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Peacock By Spring Blossoms in October 2015 with an auction result of HKD 1,187,500.00 (€ 138,731.66).
Kunstwerk zum Fünffachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Sparrows and Chrysanthemum von Tian Shiguang im Mai letzten Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 35.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 189.000,00 (€ 22.438,36) mehr als fünfmal so hoch. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Tian Shiguang auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Peacock By Spring Blossoms im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.187.500,00 (€ 138.731,66).
