Auction result misses estimated price range
In February 2021 a collector was able to acquire the work Soho Greeting by Thurston Hopkins for GBP 1,402.50 (€ 1,617.52). This price was achieved in the auction British. Cool. at Bonhams in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Thurston Hopkins have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work La Dolce Vita, Knightsbridge, London, 1953 in March 2018 with an auction result of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,539.16).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Februar 2021 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Soho Greeting von Thurston Hopkins für GBP 1.402,50 (€ 1.617,52) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion British. Cool. bei Bonhams in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Thurston Hopkins auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit La Dolce Vita, Knightsbridge, London, 1953 im März 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.539,16).
