This artwork by Thornton Utz achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in December 2006. In the The House Sale auction, the work Nude figure in a garden sold for USD 2,640.00 (€ 2,000.45) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thornton Utz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Resume Safe Speed in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 137,500.00 (€ 123,329.45).

Oberer Schätzpreis um 76 % übertroffen

Dieses Kunstwerk von Thornton Utz erzielte im Dezember 2006 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The House Sale wurde die Arbeit Nude figure in a garden für USD 2.640,00 (€ 2.000,45) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thornton Utz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Resume Safe Speed im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 137.500,00 (€ 123.329,45).
