Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Portrait of Mrs Leonard Dodds by Thomas (Tom) William Roberts was auctioned at Christies in Melbourne in April 2005, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of AUD 6,000.00 – 10,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for AUD 5,975.00 (€ 3,623.20). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas (Tom) William Roberts achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Louis Abrahams in September 2015 with an auction result of GBP 314,500.00 (€ 425,907.72).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Portrait of Mrs Leonard Dodds von Thomas (Tom) William Roberts im April 2005 bei Christies in Melbourne versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 6.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für AUD 5.975,00 (€ 3.623,20) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas (Tom) William Roberts erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait Of Louis Abrahams im September 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 314.500,00 (€ 425.907,72).
