In October 2007 Christies in London held the auction British, Continental & Russian Pictures, which included the work Parrot tulips, narcissus, peonies, chrysanthemums, carnations, lilies and roses in an urn with fruit to the side, on a stone ledge by Thomas Webster. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,795.08), 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Webster achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Maternal Affection in June 2001 with an auction result of GBP 14,100.00 (€ 23,422.91).
