Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2004 Christies in London held the auction THE IRISH SALE, which included the work View near Kenmare, Co. Kerry by Thomas Walmsley. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,151.00 (€ 3,227.29) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Thomas Walmsley have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2001 the work The Dargle in Flood was auctioned for GBP 3,055.00 (€ 5,121.78).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion THE IRISH SALE durch, in der auch die Arbeit View near Kenmare, Co. Kerry von Thomas Walmsley zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.151,00 (€ 3.227,29) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Thomas Walmsley konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Mai 2001 die Arbeit The Dargle in Flood für GBP 3.055,00 (€ 5.121,78) versteigert.
