In December 2014 Christies in London held the auction Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours, which included the work A Mountain Landscape With A Torrent by Thomas Walmsley. The result of GBP 1,000.00 (€ 1,287.33) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thomas Walmsley - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Dargle in Flood, which sold at auction in May 2001 for GBP 3,055.00 (€ 5,121.78).

Im Dezember 2014 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Mountain Landscape With A Torrent von Thomas Walmsley zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 1.000,00 (€ 1.287,33) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Thomas Walmsley mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Dargle in Flood beobachtet, die im Mai 2001 für GBP 3.055,00 (€ 5.121,78) versteigert wurde.
