Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Blaze, Held By A Groom On Newmarket Heath by Thomas Spencer was sold in the Important British Paintings auction at Sothebys in London in November 2007. The price achieved of GBP 9,375.00 (€ 13,127.43) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Thomas Spencer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Flying Childers in December 2019 with an auction result of GBP 52,500.00 (€ 62,048.86).
