Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2004 a collector was able to acquire the work The maid of Arthois by Thomas Sewell Robins for GBP 95.60 (€ 144.47). This price was achieved in the auction British and Continental Watercolours including Original at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 200.00 – 300.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Sewell Robins achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Studies of the cutter yacht Cygnet, one showing her beating Vision at the Southampton Regatta in 1848; the other with Cygnet winning the Queen's Cup at Cowes in 1849, a pair each 54 x 76.8cm (21 1/4 x 30 1/4in). (2) in October last year with an auction result of GBP 49,440.00 (€ 57,597.05).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Studies of the cutter yacht Cygnet, one showing her beating Vision at the Southampton Regatta in 1848; the other with Cygnet winning the Queen's Cup at Cowes in 1849, a pair each 54 x 76.8cm (21 1/4 x 30 1/4in). (2) im Oktober letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 49.440,00 (€ 57.597,05).
