Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Thomas Sewell Robins could be acquired at Christies in London in January 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work Fishing craft in coastal waters changed hands for GBP 187.50 (€ 251.35) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Sewell Robins achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Studies of the cutter yacht Cygnet, one showing her beating Vision at the Southampton Regatta in 1848; the other with Cygnet winning the Queen's Cup at Cowes in 1849, a pair each 54 x 76.8cm (21 1/4 x 30 1/4in). (2) in October last year with an auction result of GBP 49,440.00 (€ 57,597.05).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Studies of the cutter yacht Cygnet, one showing her beating Vision at the Southampton Regatta in 1848; the other with Cygnet winning the Queen's Cup at Cowes in 1849, a pair each 54 x 76.8cm (21 1/4 x 30 1/4in). (2) im Oktober letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 49.440,00 (€ 57.597,05).
