Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Barge Entering Harbour by Thomas Sewell Robins was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2006. The price achieved of GBP 3,600.00 (€ 5,342.85) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Sewell Robins achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Studies of the cutter yacht Cygnet, one showing her beating Vision at the Southampton Regatta in 1848; the other with Cygnet winning the Queen's Cup at Cowes in 1849, a pair each 54 x 76.8cm (21 1/4 x 30 1/4in). (2) in October last year with an auction result of GBP 49,440.00 (€ 57,597.05).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.600,00 (€ 5.342,85) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden.
