Sold at the upper estimate price
In May 2010 Christies in London held the auction Maritime Art, which included the work "Northward, for the herring shoals" by Thomas Rose Miles. The auction ended at the price of GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,757.46), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Rose Miles achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Weed gatherers, West coast of Ireland; and Morning of the Fair, Roundstone Quay, Connemara in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 36,000.00 (€ 52,976.44).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Mai 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion Maritime Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit "Northward, for the herring shoals" von Thomas Rose Miles zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 1.500,00 (€ 1.757,46) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Rose Miles erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Weed gatherers, West coast of Ireland; and Morning of the Fair, Roundstone Quay, Connemara im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 36.000,00 (€ 52.976,44).
