signed with initials 'JB', in fitted fishskin case

Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work A gentleman in gray coat and embroidered brown waistcoat, wearing a powdered bob wig by Thomas Redmond was sold in the Portrait Miniatures, Objects of Vertu, Selected Silver, and auction at Christies in London in November 2005. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 360.00 (€ 528.89), 20% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Thomas Redmond have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Unknown in June 2010 with an auction result of GBP 2,000.00 (€ 2,432.19).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit A gentleman in gray coat and embroidered brown waistcoat, wearing a powdered bob wig von Thomas Redmond wurde im November 2005 in der Auktion Portrait Miniatures, Objects of Vertu, Selected Silver, and bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 360,00 (€ 528,89) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Thomas Redmond auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Unknown im Juni 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.000,00 (€ 2.432,19).
