Auction result misses estimated price range
In July last year a collector was able to acquire the work Conway Castle, North Wales by Thomas Miles Richardson Sen. for GBP 2,600.00 (€ 3,104.86). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master and British Works on Paper: Drawings, Watercolours and Prints 1500-1900 at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Miles Richardson Sen. achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work View of Newcastle from the River Tyne, with shipping in the foreground in December 2000 with an auction result of GBP 44,650.00 (€ 71,127.05).
