This price was achieved in the auction The European Art Sale at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Thomas Miles Richardson Sen. have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work View of Newcastle from the River Tyne, with shipping in the foreground in December 2000 with an auction result of GBP 44,650.00 (€ 71,127.05).
