Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work View of The Temple of Diana, Nemi, With A Shepherd In The Foreground by Thomas Jones was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2005, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 200,000.00 – 300,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 187,200.00 (€ 277,442.22). Other works by Thomas Jones have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in November 2005 by the work View of The Campi Flegrei From The Camadolise Convent Near Naples at GBP 237,600.00 (€ 349,064.43).

Als die Arbeit View of The Temple of Diana, Nemi, With A Shepherd In The Foreground von Thomas Jones im Juni 2005 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus.
