Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2004 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours including Original, which included the work A shepherd and his flock returning home at sunset by Thomas James Lloyd. The price achieved of GBP 836.50 (€ 1,264.14) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 700.00 – 900.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas James Lloyd achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work August, At Wembury Near Plymouth in July 2009 with an auction result of GBP 13,125.00 (€ 14,892.94).
