In July 2016 Christies in London held the auction Old Master and British Paintings Day Sale, which included the work Portrait of Lady Anne Brudenell (d. 1786), half-length, in a pink dress with cuffed sleeves and pearls in her hair, in a painted oval by Thomas Hudson. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 28,750.00 (€ 34,161.22), 44% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Hudson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of John and Robert, sons of Robert Ker, 2nd Duke of Roxburghe, in van Dyck costume with their two dogs, an extensive landscape beyond in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 450,000.00 (€ 386,365.59).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 44 % übertroffen
Im Juli 2016 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master and British Paintings Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of Lady Anne Brudenell (d. 1786), half-length, in a pink dress with cuffed sleeves and pearls in her hair, in a painted oval von Thomas Hudson zur Versteigerung kam. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of John and Robert, sons of Robert Ker, 2nd Duke of Roxburghe, in van Dyck costume with their two dogs, an extensive landscape beyond im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 450.000,00 (€ 386.365,59).
