Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2001 Christies in New York held the auction American Paintings and Sculpture, which included the work Couple In An Interior by Thomas Hovenden. The price achieved of USD 3,525.00 (€ 4,159.78) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Hovenden achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Girl With Cabbage in November 2017 with an auction result of USD 75,000.00 (€ 63,035.80).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2001 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Paintings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Couple In An Interior von Thomas Hovenden zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 3.525,00 (€ 4.159,78) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Hovenden erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Girl With Cabbage im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 75.000,00 (€ 63.035,80).
