Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2001 Christies in London held the auction British And Continental Watercolours And Drawings, which included the work Still-life of pears, damson, beech nuts and horse chestnuts on a bank by Thomas Frederick Collier. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,115.00 (€ 3,418.15) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thomas Frederick Collier - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Still-Life Of A Bird'S Nest With Apple Blossom, Primulas And Anemonies, which sold at auction in June 2001 for GBP 4,935.00 (€ 8,198.02).
