This artwork by Thomas Faed achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in March 2001. In the BRITISH AND VICTORIAN PAINTINGS, INCLUDING SCOTTISH PICTURES auction, the work Absent Thoughts sold for GBP 10,575.00 (€ 17,063.82) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Faed achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Worn Out in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 259,650.00 (€ 379,080.81).

In der Auktion BRITISH AND VICTORIAN PAINTINGS, INCLUDING SCOTTISH PICTURES wurde die Arbeit Absent Thoughts für GBP 10.575,00 (€ 17.063,82) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Faed erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Worn Out im Februar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 259.650,00 (€ 379.080,81).
