Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2001 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH & CONTINENTAL PICTURES, which included the work Misty Moon by Thomas Edward Francis. The price achieved of GBP 352.50 (€ 590.97) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300.00 – 500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thomas Edward Francis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Nine albums of drawings and watercolours of English landscapes, figurative studies and studies of farm implements (two illustrated), the majority inscribed and variously dated from 1921 to 1938, which sold at auction in July 2007 for GBP 1,560.00 (€ 2,316.96).
