A top price for Thomas Edward Francis - as previously expected
The work Nine albums of drawings and watercolours of English landscapes, figurative studies and studies of farm implements (two illustrated), the majority inscribed and variously dated from 1921 to 1938 by Thomas Edward Francis was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,560.00 (€ 2,316.96) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Nine albums of drawings and watercolours of English landscapes, figurative studies and studies of farm implements (two illustrated), the majority inscribed and variously dated from 1921 to 1938 is the most expensive artwork by Thomas Edward Francis that we have observed at auctions so far.
