Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Homenagem a William Turner by Thiago Rocha Pitta was sold in the Latin American Art auction at Christies in New York in May 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 11,225.86) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Thiago Rocha Pitta have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in March 2021 the work Tres Nuvens De Lama (Three Mud Clouds) was auctioned for USD 15,120.00 (€ 12,875.76).
