Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Grand Nu Assis by Paul-Théophile Robert was auctioned at Sothebys in Zurich in June 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of CHF 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for CHF 7,500.00 (€ 6,856.54). Admittedly, works by Paul-Théophile Robert have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Akt zwischen zwei Bediensteten. 1927. in June 2004 with an auction result of CHF 54,740.00 (€ 35,898.55).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Grand Nu Assis von Paul-Théophile Robert im Juni 2017 bei Sothebys in Zürich versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von CHF 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für CHF 7.500,00 (€ 6.856,54) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Paul-Théophile Robert auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Akt zwischen zwei Bediensteten. 1927. im Juni 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CHF 54.740,00 (€ 35.898,55).
