Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Abstraction with Faces and Skyscrapers by Theodore Roszak was auctioned at Christies in New York in December 2005, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 19,200.00 (€ 16,213.48). Admittedly, works by Theodore Roszak have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Study for "Forty-Second Street" in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 126,000.00 (€ 111,632.85).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Abstraction with Faces and Skyscrapers von Theodore Roszak im Dezember 2005 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 19.200,00 (€ 16.213,48) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Theodore Roszak auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Study for "Forty-Second Street" im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 126.000,00 (€ 111.632,85).
