A top price for Théodore Lévigne - as previously expected
In March 2002 Christies in London held the auction NINETEENTH CENTURY EUROPEAN ART, which included the work Grapes on the vine, apples and peaches, on a ledge; and A melon and peaches on a ceramic plate with pears, an apple, a silver tankard and a wine bottle and glass by Théodore Lévigne. The price achieved of GBP 3,760.00 (€ 6,146.61) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,500.00 – 4,500.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Grapes on the vine, apples and peaches, on a ledge; and A melon and peaches on a ceramic plate with pears, an apple, a silver tankard and a wine bottle and glass is the most expensive artwork by Théodore Lévigne that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im März 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion NINETEENTH CENTURY EUROPEAN ART durch, in der auch die Arbeit Grapes on the vine, apples and peaches, on a ledge; and A melon and peaches on a ceramic plate with pears, an apple, a silver tankard and a wine bottle and glass von Théodore Lévigne zur Versteigerung kam. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Grapes on the vine, apples and peaches, on a ledge; and A melon and peaches on a ceramic plate with pears, an apple, a silver tankard and a wine bottle and glass das teuerste Kunstwerk von Théodore Lévigne, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
