Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2007 Christies in London held the auction Nineteenth Century European Art Including Russian Pictures, which included the work Ducks on a lake by a French château by Théodore Lévigne. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 1,680.00 (€ 2,472.23). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Théodore Lévigne - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Grapes on the vine, apples and peaches, on a ledge; and A melon and peaches on a ceramic plate with pears, an apple, a silver tankard and a wine bottle and glass, which sold at auction in March 2002 for GBP 3,760.00 (€ 6,146.61).
Für andere Arbeiten von Théodore Lévigne mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Grapes on the vine, apples and peaches, on a ledge; and A melon and peaches on a ceramic plate with pears, an apple, a silver tankard and a wine bottle and glass beobachtet, die im März 2002 für GBP 3.760,00 (€ 6.146,61) versteigert wurde.
