In November 2001 Christies in London held the auction Nineteenth Century European Art, which included the work The attentive nanny by Théodore Gérard. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 11,515.00 (€ 18,323.99), 44% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Théodore Gérard - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The young artist, which sold at auction in October 2002 for EUR 41,825.00.

Im November 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion Nineteenth Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The attentive nanny von Théodore Gérard zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 11.515,00 (€ 18.323,99) und damit 44% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Théodore Gérard mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The young artist beobachtet, die im Oktober 2002 für EUR 41.825,00 versteigert wurde.
