The price achieved of GBP 8,483,750.00 (€ 9,661,408.40) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 7,000,000.00 – 10,000,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, L’Escaut En Amont D’Anvers, Le Soir Or Voiliers Sur L'Escaut is the most expensive artwork by Théo van Rysselberghe that we have observed at auctions so far.
