In July 2016 Christies in London held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included this untitled work by Theodore Mendez. The result of GBP 1,000.00 (€ 1,188.22) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Theodore Mendez have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Grey Composition in December 2014 with an auction result of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 5,632.08).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Juli 2016 führte Christies in London die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Theodore Mendez zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 1.000,00 (€ 1.188,22) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Theodore Mendez auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Grey Composition im Dezember 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.375,00 (€ 5.632,08).
