The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,125.00 (€ 2,555.07), 42% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Collier achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Sleeping Beauty in June 2008 with an auction result of GBP 433,250.00 (€ 547,642.53).

Die Arbeit The Land Baby von John Collier wurde im Juli 2010 in der Auktion Christie's Interiors bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.125,00 (€ 2.555,07) und damit 42% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Collier erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Sleeping Beauty im Juni 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 433.250,00 (€ 547.642,53).
