Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Animal by Thanos Tsingos was auctioned at Bonhams in London in November 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 7,650.00 (€ 8,539.98). Admittedly, works by Thanos Tsingos have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Greek Flowers On A Blue Background in November 2009 with an auction result of GBP 73,250.00 (€ 80,162.68).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Animal von Thanos Tsingos im November 2020 bei Bonhams in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 7.650,00 (€ 8.539,98) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Thanos Tsingos auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Greek Flowers On A Blue Background im November 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 73.250,00 (€ 80.162,68).
