In October 2017 Christies in New York held the auction Visionaries: Photographs from the Emily and Jerry Spiegel Collection, which included the work Deformazione, Ovvero La Vedova Allegra (Deformation or the Merry Widow), 1930 by Guglielmo Sansoni. The »bidding war« ended at USD 25,000.00 (€ 21,462.91), 67% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Guglielmo Sansoni - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Avvitamento, which sold at auction in October 2019 for GBP 43,812.00 (€ 50,818.78).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 67 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2017 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Visionaries: Photographs from the Emily and Jerry Spiegel Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Deformazione, Ovvero La Vedova Allegra (Deformation or the Merry Widow), 1930 von Guglielmo Sansoni zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 21.462,91) und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Guglielmo Sansoni mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Avvitamento beobachtet, die im Oktober 2019 für GBP 43.812,00 (€ 50.818,78) versteigert wurde.
