A top price for Tapio Wirkkala - as previously expected
The work A Monumental Prototype 'Leaf' by Tapio Wirkkala was auctioned at Christies in London in October 2017. The price achieved of GBP 50,000.00 (€ 57,009.79) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, A Monumental Prototype 'Leaf' is the most expensive artwork by Tapio Wirkkala that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit A Monumental Prototype 'Leaf' von Tapio Wirkkala kam im Oktober 2017 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 50.000,00 (€ 57.009,79) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden.
