Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Pair of Television Underplates by Tapio Wirkkala was sold in the Nordic Art and Design auction at Christies in London in June 2007. The price achieved of GBP 1,200.00 (€ 1,780.74) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tapio Wirkkala achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Monumental Prototype 'Leaf' in October 2017 with an auction result of GBP 50,000.00 (€ 57,009.79).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Pair of Television Underplates von Tapio Wirkkala wurde im Juni 2007 in der Auktion Nordic Art and Design bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.200,00 (€ 1.780,74) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tapio Wirkkala erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Monumental Prototype 'Leaf' im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 50.000,00 (€ 57.009,79).
