Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
The work Seven-character Calligraphic Couplet in Clerical Script by Tang Di was worth HKD 35,280.00 (€ 4,590.76) to a buyer in September last year. This price was achieved in the auction Summer Reverie: Chinese Paintings Online at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 8,000.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tang Di achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Character in April 2013 with an auction result of HKD 3,220,000.00 (€ 315,202.00).
