Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Travellers Among Winter Mountain by Tang Dai was sold in the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction at Sothebys in New York in September 2016. The price achieved of USD 118,750.00 (€ 105,668.27) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tang Dai achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Stream-Laced Mountain After Snow in March 2013 with an auction result of USD 2,741,000.00 (€ 2,138,732.83).
