In December 2015 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Modern Paintings, which included the work Calligraphic Couplet by Tan Zekai. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 81,250.00 (€ 9,652.13), 63% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tan Zekai - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Calligraphy In Kaishu, which sold at auction in April 2015 for HKD 175,000.00 (€ 20,224.87).

Im Dezember 2015 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Modern Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Calligraphic Couplet von Tan Zekai zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 81.250,00 (€ 9.652,13) und damit 63% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Tan Zekai mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Calligraphy In Kaishu beobachtet, die im April 2015 für HKD 175.000,00 (€ 20.224,87) versteigert wurde.
